TEST PROCEDURE EDITOR OPTION

The test procedure editor module is a powerful tool that allows you to quickly create and modify your own test procedures for procedure-based testing with MPower. From the test development engineer's perspective a test procedure for MPower includes:

• General description and notes for the test template
• Definition of the general test parameters
• The tests, each with:
  • Name, description, test macro, help, etc.
  • Definition of test specific test parameters
  • Definition of the test input parameters
  • Definition of the test output parameters
  • Definition of the report table
  • Definition of the test connections
  • Digital channel assignment information for multiple digital inputs/outputs
  • Custom code for detailed calculations

The key capabilities of the test procedure editor are as follows:

General

• Created test procedures are automatically test equipment independent.
• Tests can be incrementally added to a test procedure
• Leverage existing test procedures for generic devices to drastically reduce test procedure development time
• Existing test procedures can be easily copied and modified

Test Definition

• Built-in standard tests for common elements can be customized to specific "devices" by varying test parameter inputs.
• Tests can be made independent of element pickup level and timing by connecting "device" settings or values calculated from device settings to test input parameters
• Test parameters to allow control of the test by the user can be created
• Formulas can be defined for any test parameters

Connection Definition

• Connection terminal information can be entered just once and re-used for all tests for the same "device" type
• Ability to add jumper or additional connections to connection tables
• Custom drawn connection diagrams in any software can be linked to the test procedure and viewed during testing

User Assistance

• Pop-up message boxes can be defined for any test to give specific directions to the user
• "Device" manuals can be linked to the test procedure and viewed during testing
• Attach general help notes to the test procedure
• Give descriptions for each test
• Give comments for any test parameter

Report Creation

• Default report table is automatically created for each test and can be easily customized
• Customizable number formatting for test reports

Custom Calculations

• Formulas can be defined to dynamically skip tests which are not applicable based on "device" settings or other factors
• Powerful decision making and calculations of test parameters can be embedded in custom MPower Script code
• Exchange data with other programs such as MS Excel to perform calculations or processing required for testing
